TECHNICAL - CHASSIS
Specs:
Weight
50lb
Length
6'
Width
24"
Material
Thin-Wall Steel
Tube
What Does It Do?

The chassis is designed to cope with the
entire weight of the vehicle (1100lbs)
flipping over onto it, without crushing the
driver. It carries the seat, and the
controls, and is designed to skid on sand
or concrete, during maximum braking. It
is MIG welded out of 1/16"-wall steel
tube, and one side comes apart to allow
(fairly) easy disassembly. It is attached to
the main axle with 3/4" hardened steel
bolts, as the join has to resist over 900 ft
lb's of torque, even
before it goes over a
bump.
